Wednesday, January 31, Middle Peninsula Habitat Restoration Workshop:
- Why: To meet a need for restoration related discussion that you've voiced!
- Our objective: To strengthen the network of habitat restoration professionals in the Middle Peninsula of Virginia by sharing case studies and research that closes knowledge gaps, ensures best practices, and fosters collaboration.
- Who: You, a nearshore restoration practitioner operating in coastal VA; potentially a member of this Middle Peninsula restoration community of practice.
- Hosted by: CBNERR-VA in concert with NOAA's Chesapeake Bay Office and the York River and Small Coastal Basin Roundtable.
What: A knowledge exchange. Hear from folks on the latest best practices in habitat restoration (SAV, oyster reefs, marshes, etc.) and discuss ideas, projects, challenges and opportunities with your colleagues. We’re still firming up the agenda, but sessions will include:
- New technologies for restoration planning, monitoring, and implementation
- What’s new in habitat restoration for SAV beds, Oyster Reefs, Marshes, and Buffers
- Land: Acquisition, Easements, and Management
- Updates on Local Projects
- Where: In person on the VIMS campus, Gloucester Point, Virginia; registrants will receive updates on logistics as date approaches.
